Late last Friday evening, we headed up to the Alamo Drafthouse in Littleton. It was the start of one of the best film festivals we have seen in a long time. The event kicked off with Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. Which we both managed to sneak away to see one of the many showings.
During the show, we got a chance to meet Kyle Herbert who in addition to being one of the nicest voice actors we have met, provided the voice for some of the Kingsglaive soldiers, and is best known as the narrator for Dragonball Z, teen Gohan, Aizen and Ganju in Bleach signed many collectibles for fans and provided great conversation.
The wonderful Laura Post that voiced such parts as Ragyo Kiryuin form Kill La Kill, Ahri in League of Legends, Rosalia in Sword Art Online and many, many more was there to introduce Love Live! The School Idol Movie, sign autographs and answer questions.
Enjoying a beer and food while having wait staff make sure you wanted for nothing, the Alamo Drafthouse was the perfect setting for this first time event. We have heard of but never been to a cinema quite like this, so were thoroughly impressed. We do wonder about the abominable chandelier though. There is a light saber plunged into one side.
As the festival went on many great anime were available for adults and children alike such as: The Tale of Princess Kaguya, , Paprika, Grave of the Fireflies, Belladonna of Sadness, Porco Rosso, Summer Wars, and one of the most beautiful and possibly last pieces of true non-CGI animation we will ever see, Redline.
We can’t wait to see you there next year!
